In this logo, I used Adobe Illustrator to create a simple, but detailed image. Just like my last logo, I used preset shapes and created my own with the pen tool.
I focused on recreating the iconic Las Vegas logo in the background by creating shapes and adding an outer glow and a 3D emboss to the shapes. The glow makes the sign look illuminated as if you were walking past the sign on a late night.
To create the chips, I started off with a light green circle, and added a thick dashed stroke that alternate in dark green and white. Then, I 3D embossed it. I changed the angle to make the chip face up. Once I got my chip, I gave it a white outer glow, and duplicated it one ontop of another to make them stack.
For the background, I just used the pen tool to create thick lines coming from a center point. This brings the attention to the chips. I alternated the lines in dark and light blue colours.
This logo was more of a challenge, but it was a fun process. Experimenting with the 3D emboss tool allows me to go above and beyond in the graphic design world.
